There are 99 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day…That Means 99 Chances to Seize that Summer Magic
Travels: Whether staying local to a day Hike at Chautauqua, Camp in Estes, Hit the sand slopes at the Great Sand Dunes on the eastern edge of the San Luis Valley, maybe hit the bike trails located throughout Erie, or a true “Pack your Bags” vacation, put some destinations on your Summer Bucket List!
Eats: In Old Town Erie we have 5 Microbrews, 8 total Restaurants and of course SWEETS. You can head to downtown Denver to a Rockies game and grab a bite to eat before the game at one of the many places within walking distance to Coors Field. One of my favorites is El Chapultepec on Market Street. The best green chili around! How about the Boulder dining scene? With Farm to Table options like The Kitchen located on Pearl Street. Another Bucket List must do.
Back Yard Retreat: 1. String Lights a must! 2. A New Serving Tray! Just add this to your back yard table with a votive of fresh flowers. 3. Outdoor Rug! Another fairly inexpensive way to change the vibe of your backyard. 4. Fire Pit! Because…why not…who doesn’t love S’mores?
Vegetable Garden: We plant a garden every year and we have found out that we are really, really good at growing cucumbers and really, really bad at growing tomatoes. We are pretty good at growing sugar snap peas, watermelon and hot jalapeno peppers. Each planting season, we try something new and will continue to work on those tomatoes. But, the one thing we love is being able to go out to the garden and smell the freshly grown vegetables and attempt to make a salad with a lot of cucumbers and no tomatoes ; )
